Style Diary | The Perfect Parka

Sorry for the slight hiatus in posts recently, I’ve somehow started a new job I wasn’t even looking for! It all happened very quickly and I’m very happy to be working in events marketing again, this time in the beautiful city of Bath. However, it now means I have much less time to devote to blogging – but I’ll try my best to post regularly.

I somehow managed to exercise amazing self-restraint when it came to Black Friday this year. Despite the influx of offers in my inbox and spending a good portion of my weekend browsing the best deals online, I didn’t buy anything. That was until Cyber Monday, when I broke and ordered everything I had my eye on from Miss Selfridge!

I bought a boyfriend coat with a fur collar this time last year (you can read my post about it here), which has lasted reasonably well, apart from going a bit bobbly, and I’ve been wearing it this winter. However, it doesn’t cope well with the wet weather and I always end up looking/feeling like a drowned rat in the rain so I’ve been on the look out for a raincoat that repels water rather than men..

This Parka fits the bill perfectly. Miss Selfridge describe it as premium and it definitely feels it. The fur trim on the hood is faux but still looks luxe, especially paired with the gold metalwear. It also has a down filled detachable gilet inside making it super snuggly, which is important as I’m always cold!

I road-tested it today at a slightly drizzly Christmas Independednt Market in Frome and took these photos after the traders had packed away their stalls on Catherine Hill. If you’re thinking about getting a new winter coat, it’s reduced on their website at the moment. Although slightly on the pricey side, it’s very good quality and I know it will last for many winters to come.
