It’s about time I succumbed to the 70’s trend. Whether it’s bright floral prints or romantic boho silhouettes, this summer is all about a subtle nod to the 70’s.
I was a bit apprehensive about embracing the latest retro inspired trend as to me the 70’s equals dodgy disco outfits and gaudy psychedelic colours. Thank goodness only the less tragic elements of 70’s style have been resurrected and reinvented.
If you’re wary like me, these cigarette trousers from Topshop provide a gentle introduction to the 70’s trend with their bold daisy print whilst the tapered leg and ankle grazing length creates a flattering shape. Styled with a white cotton shirt, this outfit is set to be a trusty combination for smart casual events throughout summer (I might even iron the shirt if it’s more smart than casual!)
Whilst I’m not quite ready for the flares just yet (or ever), I’m looking forward to styling my summer wardrobe to include some subtle seventies inspired pieces.
