Summer is finally starting to make an appearance, which means it’s time to introduce lighter, brighter colours to your wardrobe and maybe ditch the tights if you’re feeling brave enough!
One of the trends for SS16 is pink, a colour which I’ve realised I hardly ever wear. I think subconsciously I’ve always thought wearing pink would make me feel too girly and look even younger than I already do.
Always up for trying something new when it comes to fashion, I decided to give wearing pink a go when I spotted this pleated midi skirt in Topshop. It’s much more flattering than I thought it would be. I really like the way it falls, highlighting the waist to create a feminine silhouette but in a modern and sophisticated way.
Although, I would advise wearing a slip underneath the skirt as it tends to cling to certain places in gusts of wind! It would be perfect to wear in the office when the weather gets warmer or to garden parties and summer BBQ’s.
Sorry for the slightly picture heavy post this week but I think the skirt speaks for itself! It’s definitely given me the confidence to think pink when I’m styling outfits this summer. Let me know in the comments below if you’re a fan of wearing pink and how you like to style it.
