Style Diary | Plaid Shirt Dress

When Chloe came to stay last weekend we had the best day ever spent shopping in Bath. Not only was it a beautiful sunny autumnal day but luck was definitely on our side.

As it was Halloween, Banana Republic were running a promotion and giving away ‘treats’ to customers in the form of discounts/offers, with the chance for a select few to win £150 to spend in store. I picked my envelope and opened it to find a very welcome 25% off, but Chloe then opened hers and realised she’d won the £150!

We couldn’t believe it at first as this sort of thing never seems to happen to us. It was such a lovely surprise and being the fab sister she is, insisted on sharing it with me. We had to spend it on the day before it expired so it was difficult deciding what to buy as there were so many nice things, but it was an enjoyable dilemma to be in! I haven’t shopped in Banana Republic much before, I only really go in when I’m shopping with Chloe but I was surprised by how many things I wanted for myself and you can tell their clothes are fantastic quality.

Chloe and I aren’t the most decisive of people so we tried on all the items we liked before going for lunch to make an informed decision. We had such a lovely lunch sitting outside Carluccio’s in the sunshine with a big glass of white wine each to aid the decision making!

In the end Chloe bought a cosy looking jumper and knit pencil skirt whilst I went for this plaid shirt dress. It’s super soft flannel material and relaxed shape makes it a perfect addition to my autumn/winter wardrobe.

It was such a pleasant surprise to be able to come away with a new dress when I thought I’d have to refrain from buying anything and only be able to window shop. Thank you to Banana Republic for the clothes and for unexpectedly brightening up our day!
