Style Diary | Birthday Boots

I’ve had my eye on these boots for a while now. I came across them in January whilst browsing the internet and pointed them out to my uninterested boyfriend, who merely raised an eyebrow and turned his attention back to Fifa.

So you can imagine my surprise when, come my birthday three months later I opened my present from him to find the exact same boots and, even more impressively, in the right size! I originally found them on River Island and checked to see if they were still there a few weeks before my birthday but to my disappointment they were out of stock.

He bought them from Office, which only adds to the mystery of how he managed to find them! I really love them. I’ve never owned a pair of knee-high boots before as I’ve always been worried that they might make my legs look shorter than they are.

However, they achieve the opposite effect. The knee-high length of black suede creates a sleek silhouette and, together with the platform sole and chunky heel, lengthens the legs. They’re really comfortable to wear and I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them.

They had their first outing when I went for birthday drinks at Barrio North the other evening and styled them with a loose swing style dress and tights. I’m going to make the most of them this Spring before it’s too warm to wear boots and I’m sure they’ll be a staple item in my wardrobe come autumn. They’re now back in stock at River Island and you can find them here, or from Office here.
