This Pumpkin Spiced Hot Chocolate is a very tasty and comforting way of using up any left over pumpkin after Halloween.
As the the clocks have gone back and the nights draw in, there’s nothing better than spending an evening curled up by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate. Warm yourself up this winter by adding pumpkin and spices to your classic hot chocolate.
1oog of white or milk chocolate
5 cups of whole milk
1 cup of pumpkin puree
4 tsp drinking chocolate powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
If using a fresh pumpkin, make the puree by boiling pieces of the pumpkin in water until soft. Then drain away the water and puree the pumpkin in a food processor.
In a saucepan, gently simmer the milk, chocolate and drinking chocolate powder until the chocolate has melted.
Add the pumpkin puree, spices and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined and heated through.
Serve with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and a dusting of nutmeg.
