Hello, my name is Freya and I’m really excited to introduce you to Work It Girl. I’ve been thinking of starting a blog for a while and having recently graduated from University, now is the perfect time.
I hope you enjoy my blog as I share with you my journey into the real world, splitting my time between Somerset and London (or “the dark side” *said in a west country accent* as some locals have been known to call it!) I love autumn, it’s my favourite season for fashion and here is possibly the most autumnal dress in existence. This is a vintage dress my mum bought in the 80’s from Liberty. It’s so ethereal and wearing it in the forest near home in Somerset made me feel like some kind of woodland nymph.
It’s truly lovely to wear and personifies autumn with its layers of burnt orange silk and leaf-like details. Back in the day my mum would wear this as an evening dress but I’m not sure I would wear it to anything but a themed party.
Nevertheless, it’s too beautiful to stay hidden in a wardrobe and I couldn’t resist shooting it in its natural habitat among the fallen leaves. Merlin, my big fluffy ginger cat, also happens to compliment the orange hues of autumn, so he inevitably worked his way into the shoot (..any excuse) and I’m sure this won’t be the last you’ll be seeing of him.
